We are really proud to have just received in a great testimonial from Seven Sins Tattoo. We have been working with them for over a year and it has been a great year and really enjoyed working with them. Thanks to all at Seven Sins Tattoo and look forward to keeping working with you.

Seven Sins Tattoo have been working with GT Web Design for over a year now and the results of our new website are phenomenal! Our old website was a nightmare. We had no access to update pictures or content and we had hardly any traffic. But since commissioning Mike to build us a brand new site I cannot praise him enough. From day one Mike has taken our brief and made our company website work properly, giving us expert and concise advice in getting the results we wanted and working tirelessly to get it up and running quickly and efficiently. Mike reacts quickly to our changing ideas and requests and always achieves good results

Since we went live the results have been impressive. Our customers love our site and compliment us all the time on how professional and functional it is. We’ve since added a blog which is hugely popular and most recently, an online shop, which has already started to show good results in additional sales. I’d recommend Mike and GT Web Design highly to anyone who wanted to get a slick, professional website

When you first install WordPress for a customer there are always a few things you instinctivly do because you know there is a real benefit from doing it. I use a number of plug ins and widgets and layout tricks and tips, but what do I set first?

I must say the first thing I do is to set the permalinks to use a custom permalink setting so that the Urls within the wordpress section of my site are as SEO and person friendly as they can be in my view. I therefore change the permalinks strucutre so that the url as you will see is main address / Category Name / Post Title. Therefore as you see on this post the category is wordpress and the post section of the url completes it making the full Url http://www.gtwebdesign.co.uk/news-blog/index.php/wordpress/first-thing-i-set-in-wordpress/

If you are new to wordpress and do not know how to set this, then you can log into wordpress and int he left menu select “Settings” and then select Permalink. Once in there select the option of “Custom” url and enter “/index.php/%category%/%postname%/” in the space and then the new design will continue for new posts.

WHY IS THIS FIRST?? – The reason this is the first thing that I set in most is that i want every post from day 1 to have the correct URL structure

The Gt Web Design website has been rather neglected of late as due to work levels we have not had the time to spend on it we would have liked to but the time has finally come. We are therefore going to use many of the methods that we recommend for our customers such as the intergration of facebook and here with this use of blogging. On the new website we will be looking to add in a lot more information about the many websites we have completed as examples of the different styles of websites we can offer.

As Gt Web Design has now been building local company websites for years we thought as well as giving back to the area through some free local charity websites we should also give back to some of the technical people out there that have saved us going mad late at night when there is something you are trying to do and it just wont work! To all those developers out there that help us we are going to actively give back knowledge and help with other peoples issues.
