All Motorcycle Stuff is an in house project website. This website was set up as
a tool for motorcycle riders aroud the UK and is All Motorcycle Stuff.
With the increasing ability to buy things online there is a trend now to buy from
faceless companies, this site is designed to allow a web user to find a seller that
offers the toye of products or services that they are looking for.
What makes All Motorcycle Stuff different from other sites is that you are able
to enter your postcode and how far you are willing to travel and all comapanies
that are located within that distance from their location will be listed along with
information of how far away they are as well as their website address and more.
This allows users to buy online but know that if there was a problem then they could
visit the seller as they are local.
Motorcycle events are also listed on the website and can be located in the same
way with a postcode and distance willing to travel (or selecting a county) along
with tools such as reminders so that the website will send an auto reminder to the
biker a week or 2 before the event to remind them of the event to ensure they do
not miss it.
This website is split into 2 main section which is that of the core site that is
the company and event locator section, we also have a blog section located at
http://www.allmotorcyclestuff.com/motorcycle-news/ that is used for a number
of functions such as reviews of motorcycles and motorcycle equipment, also motorcycle
related news and information. This blog offer the opportunity to build up interesting
content for bikers to see through the search engines to help generate traffic for
the site.
With this site we have used the
blogging tool wordpress and have made a
Custom wordpress theme to match the rest of the site so that users can
move seemlessly between the main sections and there be now change in appearance
to keep the customer clearly in the same website.
This website is a work in progress as it is rather time intensive but we are adding
more tools, events and companies all the time.
